Four Days in one Breath
This city is amazing! Beautiful views at every turn. Pictures done do it justice by any means. We have seen crazy, busy markets, beautiful clothing, and spiritual landmarks. Everyday has been tough oh the ole body, but worth every moment. To know that I have stood where kings, Jesus, and other rulers of this area have stood, will be memories that I will never forget. Day 1: We went to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. This is where the tomb is that Jesus was in after his crucifixtion. I saw where they believed Peter denied Christ three times. Day 2: City of David was incredible. Much smaller than I thought it would be but beautiful! I loved seeing how the city was formed and how things have changed through the years and different rulers. Hezekiah's Tunnel was refreshing too. We walked in water through a tunnel that two groups of men chipped away at from two different sides until they met in the middle. They did this so that the city would have their own water and no one could stop their water source. Day 3: We went to the Holocaust Museum and the Israel Museum. Very moving things at both locations. I loved seeing the Dead Sea Scrolls, modern art, and all the awesome things at the archaeology museum. We went for a stroll through the Old City later that night and caught a video celebrating the 50th year of the 6 Day War. Day 4: Walking all over this city!!! It was a lot of things, but again a beautiful view every where you look! The Jerusalem Archaeological Park was amazing! I wish I could go back in time and live in those houses and walk on those streets. This post doesn't do the City of Jerusalem justice but hopefully it will let you see a glimpse into the few days we have been here.
