a jeep run in the wadi rum

monday, june 26

our trip in jordan started off with a bang! we hopped in a jeep and took a tour of wadi rum. i wanted to share this selfie that cody took of us. we can always count on cody to get group selfies. hashtag selfie nation.

the pictures don't do the vastness of the mountains justice. being surrounded by such beauty was an amazing experience; however, the views only got better as the sun went down.

our first stop of the tour was to see this beaut- the seven pillars of wisdom. the seven pillars of wisdom is inspired by british soldier t.e. lawrence of arabia's book that is an account of his experiences during the arab revolt.

we also saw where lawrence's house was built for the 1962 movie, lawrence of arabia.

one of the last activities on our jeep tour was trudging (and.. i mean trudging) up a huge sandhill. it was exhausting, but the run down was exhilarating!

after the jeep tour, we got settled into our tents and had a few minutes before we climbed the mountains and watched the sun set. what an incredible view!

after the sunset, we had dinner made by local bedouins. it was delicious. once we finished dinner, the group hung out, talked, and some people smoked shisha as we waited for the stars. falling asleep outside to the view of stars in the night sky has been one of my favorite memories so far.

through the literal highs and lows, this group has been more amazing than any view!
